Windows Site Deployment Manager

The Windows Site Deployment Manager is a custom .NET 8 desktop application used to deploy versioned ZIP packages to Linux-hosted websites from a Windows workstation.

The problem

Repeated manual SSH/SCP deployment created unnecessary risk: missed files, unclear package versions, inconsistent checks, and difficult recovery when a change failed.

Implemented workflow

  • Profile-based deployment for separate production websites
  • SSH/SCP package transfer from Windows to Linux
  • Server-side SHA-256 capture and constrained installer execution
  • Preflight validation before changing production
  • Timestamped backups, post-install verification, and rollback support
  • Versioned release packaging rather than loose file replacement

Owner contribution

The owner designed the operational workflow, failure-handling expectations, site separation, package conventions, verification requirements, and repeated real-world deployment tests while directing AI-assisted application and script development.

Why it matters to clients

It demonstrates that application development does not end when code is written. Production changes need integrity checks, repeatability, recovery, and observable verification.
